Scouting & Guiding Activities-2009-10 Three groups of scouts and two groups of guides and bulbuls have been registered for this academic year. Four students have been sent to Pre-Rajya Puraskar Testing Camp held at K V Vijayanarayanam. One scout and two guides were selected for Rajyapuraskar Camp to be held from 6th to 10th October 2009 at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Tambaram Chennai(for scouts) and Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2 Tambaram Chennai(for Guides). Ten students (5 scouts and 5 guides) participated in TSPL Camp held at K V Adoor. |
Annual Camp 2008 Annual Camp for Scout, Guide, Cubs and Bulbuls was conducted on 13-12-08. Thirteen Scouts and six Guides iook part in the TSPL Camp held at KV Palakkad from 28-9-2008 to 30-9-2008 and all 19 got pass certificates. Two Scouts and two Guides participated in the Pre-Rajapuraskar Tesing Camp at KV Vijayanarayanam. Every Wednesday, training camp is going on for All levels of Scouts and Guides. The Scouts and Guides involved in the Campus cleaning programme two times.
THE VIDYALAYA NCC UNIT The Vidyalaya started NCC troop for JD Boys. NCC 3(K) Bn sanctioned 100 cadets strength for the Vidyalaya and this year, 50 Boys were enrolled. Parades were started from 22nd October 2008. NCC activities are undertaken as per the schedule given by the Commanding Officer 3(K) NCC, Trivandrum. A Group of Cadets will be attending ATC-11 Camp from 10/12/2008 to 19/12/2008 in G.V.Raja Sports School, Shangumugham and another Group of Cadets will be attending PRE-RDC Camp III from 20/12/2008 to 29/12/2008 (Previous dates changed) at G.V.Raja Sports School in Trivandrum. Scouting and Guiding A personality development initiative which is part of a world-wide movement, the scouting & guiding programme is well established in the Vidyalaya.
Learning by doing Well laid out labs in various disciplines help inculcate the spirit of inquiry and research, making education a purposeful endeavour. Sports and Games Vigorous and systematic training: well maintained play grounds and equipments; ample opportunities to open-up, the Vidyalaya today is a name to reckon with in the field of sports and games.
Club activities Nurturing the potential to blossom and flourish, various clubs like the Adventure club, The Nature club, The Science club, The Literacy club, The Dramatic club, The Mathematics club etc. involve students in various programmes that help groom and streamline the personality of the child.
